You have 35 minutes to change policy in BC. Take it.

Every year, a handful of Kelowna Chamber members sit down at a breakfast table for 35 minutes and change what happens in Victoria and Ottawa.

That's not an exaggeration. Our Chamber gets two or more policies adopted at the provincial and national level every single year — and we've had real wins, with governments acting on what our members told us in rooms just like this one.

You can be in that room.

The Kelowna Chamber Policy Development Forum is a two-hour breakfast event, structured as a series of "speed dating" policy conversations. You choose your topics out of a range of ten: taxation, red tape, labour, finance, street crime and its cost to your operations, and other topics. After 35 minutes, you rotate to a new table, a new topic, a new set of perspectives. And so on.

A moderator at each table makes sure every voice is heard and captures the ideas raised — nothing gets lost, and you'll receive summaries throughout the year showing exactly where the conversation goes next: into policy recommendations for the BC and Canadian Chamber annual conferences, and from there, to government.

Here's the catch: we can only host 75 of our 1,000 members. This isn't a passive info session — it's working time, and we need people willing to argue their point, listen to someone else's, and tell us plainly what policy change (or advocacy push) would actually make their business more successful.

If you've ever thought "someone should tell government this," this is the room where that happens.
