We are a fourth-generation Okanagan farming family that has been part of the community for more than a century. As one of Canada’s foremost family-owned estate wineries, our founding family matriarchs have played a pivotal role in the development of the wine industry for more than three decades. Their dedication to the wine industry can be seen reflected throughout our award-winning portfolio of wines and culinary achievements. In honour of International Women's Day, we are taking the time to celebrate and applaud the valued contributions and achievements of two very talented leaders currently shaping the future of Quails’ Gate Winery. Born and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia, Kailee started her wine career at Quails’ Gate Winery in 2016. Steadfast in the pursuit of knowledge, Kailee has built a reputation for excellence by crafting consistent high-quality wines, vintage over vintage. "Kailee's dedication and exceptional winemaking skills consistently yield award-winning wines, making us incredibly fortunate to have her on our team." - Jeffrey Del Nin, Sr. Winemaker Inspired by family culinary traditions, Jennifer trained at the Dubrulle French Culinary School in Vancouver now part of the Art Institute in Granville Island. Over the past 20 years, Jennifer has sharpened her culinary skills, experimenting and playing with seasonal and local ingredients, developing a reputation for creating innovative and inspired cuisine. Matching Old Vines Restaurant’s philosophy of fresh simplicity and menus inspired by regional Okanagan and West Coast ingredients prepared in the classical tradition, Jennifer is passionate about playing with seasonal ingredients, working alongside local producers to create dishes that showcase the best our region has to offer. The women of Quails’ Gate Winery continue to shape the development of the wine industry, focusing on making the Okanagan Valley a premium wine and culinary destination. Join us in celebrating these leaders and the work they do to deliver world-class winemaking and culinary experiences, right here in the Okanagan Valley. https://lnkd.in/g3zvSaFr

Enjoy Canadian wine responsibly and discover 'The Right Amount' today. We take great pride in crafting premium Okanagan Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Our commitment to excellence extends beyond the winemaking process, to how our wines are enjoyed. Wine Growers Canada (WGC) recently introduced The Right Amount, a government initiative designed to promote responsible wine consumption. This program offers valuable resources aimed at educating Canadians about making informed choices when it comes to enjoying wine.  Here are a few simple ways to determine ‘The Right Amount’ for you: Educate Yourself: Learn about what constitutes a standard drink and understand the recommended guidelines for responsible wine consumption. Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how your body responds to wine. Stop when you feel comfortable and in control. Factor in Glass Size: Be mindful of the size of wine glasses when pouring and consuming wine. Smaller glasses can help control portions. Use the Standard Drink Calculator: Calculate your personal limit by using the Standard Drink Calculator provided by “The Right Amount” program. Celebrate Responsibly: When celebrating with friends and family, use the Standard Drink Calculator to stay in control while enjoying special occasions.   To learn more about ‘The Right Amount’ and how it empowers you to make informed choices about wine consumption, visit the link below.

In November, we hosted our first annual Holiday Gala at Quails’ Gate Winery. This splash of holiday magic was not only a festive affair but also an opportunity to give back. Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we are delighted to announce that we raised over $20,000 for the Central Okanagan Fire Relief fund. This is a testament to the generosity and compassionate nature of this community and one of the many reasons we love the Okanagan Valley.

"The reality of vintage-specific challenges such as wildfires is not new for [CEO Tony Stewart] of Quails’ Gate, whose family has been farming in the valley for over 60 years. ‘It’s the nature of agriculture,’ he said, ‘and it’s one of the things that makes the world of wine so dynamic and captivating.’” Read the full story by Nicole MacKay, Decanter. https://lnkd.in/gYGvST4F

On Tuesday, June 20, we hosted a unique event aimed at recognizing the remarkable quality of Okanagan Valley Chardonnay. A panel of esteemed wine journalists and wine professionals were invited to partake in a blind tasting, meticulously evaluating and benchmarking Okanagan Chardonnay against some of the finest examples from around the globe. "It’s a courageous move by a winery to invite the wine trade to evaluate your efforts alongside the likes of Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Domaine Ramonet and William Fevre to name a few of the representatives from Burgundy’s Chablis and Côte de Beaune. But it’s also a terrific focus group for a winery that’s keen to see how they rate, against serious competition, on a global scale. The lineup was assembled by Okanagan-based Master of Wine Geoffrey Moss MW based on reputation and pedigree. The selection was a who’s-who of well-recognized wineries, not a case of seeking out duds to help score easy points." Christopher Waters, The Globe and Mail https://lnkd.in/g3b7VU4D

On Tuesday, June 20, we hosted a unique event aimed at recognizing the remarkable quality of Okanagan Valley Chardonnay. A panel of esteemed wine journalists and wine professionals were invited to partake in a blind tasting, meticulously evaluating and benchmarking Okanagan Chardonnay against some of the finest examples from around the globe, including Quails’ Gate’s own Stewart Family Reserve Chardonnay and Rosemary’s Block Chardonnay. The purpose of this tasting was to create an engaging platform for stimulating discussion, reciprocal learning and ultimately putting Okanagan Chardonnay into a global context. The blind tasting comprised three flights designed to represent cool-climate expressions, warm-climate expressions and diverse winemaking styles. Each flight was accompanied by lively discussion moderated by renowned wine critic, Anthony Gismondi enabling participants to delve deep into the intricacies of the wines, share valuable insights and rate the wines based on the 100-point scoring system. “A tasting like this allows us to see our wines in the context of what’s being offered around the world. They will use this opportunity to explore how wines with this kind of global recognition compare to our own and, reflect on what additional trials or refinements can be considered in our own cellar ” said Tony Stewart, Proprietor, Quails’ Gate Winery.
