Event Description: UBC Okanagan and Opera Kelowna will partner to present a FREE ADMISSION concert in the courtyard of the UBCO campus. “Opera Under the Stars” will offer world-class voices – those of the professional cast of Opera Kelowna's August 2017 production of Puccini's La bohème – in a relaxed and casual environment. The concert promises to enthral a diverse and inclusive audience with the happiness and beauty of classical singing. The concert begins at 8:30PM, though guests are welcome to arrive as early as 7PM. Bring your own picnic, blankets, and chairs. All ages are welcome and encouraged to mingle, move about and even dance to the familiar operatic favourites in a festival atmosphere. This concert is a part of Opera Kelowna's 2017 Summer Opera Series, which involves several free-admission concerts throughout the Okanagan, a Summer Intensive Training Program for aspiring classical vocalists, and our main-stage opera: Puccini's La bohème, starring Chilean tenor Leon de la Guardia in the lead role of Rodolfo.
